TANGENI SHILONGO SCHOOL

The “DRC School Project & Community Centre” is located on sandy soil of the Namib Desert in a „township“ named “Democratic Resettlement Community” (DRC), an informal settlement of Swakopmund in Namibia. The school project is one of the few places where there is running water, connected sanitation and electricity.

The school project offers daily support to up to 200 children and young people in different areas. The school project forms an oasis, supporting even the youngest children with a kindergarten and providing much-needed support for the older ones during school hours in the form of homework supervision and infrastructure for research tasks. This is immensely important for the children of the township who have no table, writing materials or light at home.

2022 EES visited the Tangeni School project for the first time to meet with Volkan and discuss further collaborations and also shoot some of the scenes to his new music video called "When We Unite" featuring well known namibian singer TopCheri.

Since then EES has supported Tangeni Shilongo school with varios opportunities of material goods as well as popular German TV broadcasters who made special video reports about the Project.
